Since I’m unemployed at the moment, I’m going to set a 2018 goal of writing on my blog weekly. Being at home with my kids 24/7 is rough on my mind, which may sound silly. To combat this, I love to run and clear my mind, but I also enjoy blogging and writing because it challenges my mind in a new way. It makes me do something I have never really felt comfortable doing: writing.
Scrolling through my feed before heading out for my cold, snow filled run, I saw a prompt called “Horizon“. Instantly I thought running and my goals, so, here’s a quick haiku (because I use to love them in my school days).
On this winter run
I look to the horizon
Mind clear and ready
So there’s my prompt for the day. Hope to read about others following the prompt today.
Happy running!
Tony
Hi, Meghan! Thanks for stopping by my blog and liking my post I’m so old that … I am enjoying my visit to yours. You seem like you are in a really positive place mentally which I think you will find overcomes many obstacles, some even before they become obstacles. Nice to hear that you are running despite and snow. I used to be a runner, but gave it up for biking which I love immensely. Keep up the good work!
Making It up As We Go
Aw, thank you! Biking is also great, though I’m more of a leisurely biker myself, my husband loved mountain biking when we lived in Arizona. My big thing is anything that gets you outside! That’s definitely where I get my mental sanity from being home all day or even I’m working. We don’t have bad weather, only bad clothes for that weather (Which I joke with my husband about, he doesn’t always think I’m funny!) Thanks again for the encouragement. 🙂
