If you’re a momma, then you probably understand why I wasn’t into podcasts until recently. Ya, I’d listen to one while running through the beautiful forest in Germany, but when the podcast ended I would soak in the silence. But a shift occurred in my life, as it tends to do. I began not finding time to read as much as I would like because of keeping the house clean, cooking food, working out, or even studying.
Cue, podcasts. I love how engaging and all the information I can absorb from them. I’m not going to lie, some of these I have to stop what I’m doing, pause the podcast, and write down my thoughts! I have loved natural birth podcasts, gentle parenting, holistic health, and owning a business. So when you look at these podcasts, be aware, it’s a mix of all of these! But I’ll give you a little description so you can pinpoint if it’s a good fit for you too.
-
The Doctor’s Farmacy
- Just by reading the name, you can probably guess why I love this one! It’s a podcast by Dr Mark Hyman, who focuses on food as a means of healing the body. He has great guests and I feel like he’s in my head many times!
-
Unlocking Us
- This podcast is by Brené Brown, who is an AH-mazing speaker. She says things that really click with me and I just want to binge listen. She talks about mindset, anxiety, grief, and comparative suffering (to name a few).
-
Unruffled
- Although there is a time or two I may not fully agree with Janet Lansbury, I adore her podcast. She empowers parents to feel confident about RIE parenting. This is a type of parenting in which children, even infants, are treated in a respectful way to raise healthy children. What does that mean? Less yelling and frustration for you because nobody likes to be screamed at.
-
Food for Thought
- Colleen Patrick-Goudreau is a compassionate vegan of 20 (maybe 30?) years. She advocates for animal rights in a non-judgmental way. She is a believer that she is here to present the information and people will take it as they will. Because we’re all on our own journey.
-
RISE Podcast
- Rachel Hollis is a momma and motivational speaker. She’s also really short (see why I connected with her?) But in all seriousness, this is a great podcast to listen to when you’re feeling down. Although I tend to prefer the episodes of just her talking, her interviews are pretty good too.
-
The Goal Digger Podcast
- Jenna Kutcher is a small, midwest momma who helps other women grow their businesses. But she’s not all business talk, she talks about money, mindset, and women life things. By women life things I mean, she has a guest who talks about creating a non-hormonal birth control pill, the (literal) energy changes that occur within us during our periods, and miscarriage.
-
The Real Food Reel
- If you like a little land down under accent, you’ll love listening to the Natural Nutritionist speak! She covers the importance of real food, gut health, holistic health, and optimizing your health and wellness.
-
Taking Back Birth
- This podcast isn’t for everyone, but I love it. Maryn Green speaks on here about how to empower women to take charge of their health and fertility. She breaks down why conventional medicine does certain tests during pregnancy, home birth, postpartum depression, biological shifts that occur during and after pregnancy, and more. I’m a big fan of education and knowing what you’re agreeing to, which includes the pros and cons of doing and not doing, so this podcast is über interesting to me.
-
The Latte Factor
- David Bach shares the first 3 chapters of his book “The Latte Factor” and then tips to attaining financial freedom. It’s only 15 episodes long, but it caused me to get to know my finances and understand my retirement better!
-
The Raw Dog Food Truth
- This one is for those dog parents out there who are holistically minded. Dede is a certified pet and raw dog food nutritionist. On her podcast, she talks about all things that relate to your dog’s health. She brings on some pretty interesting podcast guests too!
So, what podcasts are you listening to these days? Let me know! I’m always looking for thought provoking podcasts.
