As a mom, I love to unwind with a face mask. This mask has the added bonus of being a sugar scrub for your face too. I also love the simplicity of this mask and it’s ingredients.
Ingredients for Mask & Sugar Scrub for Face
- 1/2 tsp Honey
- 1 tsp Argan Oil
- 1/2 tsp Brown Sugar
- 5 drops of Essential Oils
I used Eden’s Garden Age Defy blend for my scrub. But you can use whatever you like (just be sure it’s one that’s safe for your face!) A few good options would be tea tree, frankincense, rose, or turmeric.
Benefits of Honey
Raw honey is packed full of benefits. Not only does it help to tame redness, but it also helps your skin repair itself. This means it helps your skin improve elasticity which helps fight signs of aging.
Honey also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, which help to fight acne and the redness that can accompany it.
These anti-inflammatory effects also help to reduce light and dark spots on the skin. This sugar scrub and mask combo is great for helping to refresh your skin.
Why is Brown Sugar in this Sugar Scrub for My Face?
For your face, you want to find a finer sugar. Although using big hunks of sugar may seen more exfoliating, the skin of your face is delicate. Plus, if you have acne, using a coarser scrub can hurt and make your redness flare up more (from my personal experience).
Gentle exfoliation helps to scrub off dead skin cells while also regenerating new ones. Be mindful not to scrub too hard as this can be counter productive for the face.

Last thoughts
You can certainly use this mask and scrub while relaxing in the bath. Feel free to use on shoulders or back if you experience “back”ne too.
Be gentle if you have acne. As I mentioned before, scrubbing or causing trauma to your acne can make it worse (and it’s painful!)
I hope ya’ll love this mask as much as I do.
