30 Self Care Practices for Winter

December 11, 2019 By Meghan Leave a Comment

Sitting under a blanket with a warm cup of tea & reading a book is one of my favorite things to do when it’s cold out. The cold makes it easy to skip your workout, the sun going down sooner means you feel tired earlier, and the holidays make overindulging easy.  This can lead to a vitamin D deficiency and the ‘winter blues’.  This makes winter a great time to start a self care practice. We want to prevent these blues from happening so we need to incorporate winter self care practices to boost our mood.

You need to feel good about yourself and take those tiny steps to your goals right now.  No matter how small or insignificant you believe they are, if they’re important enough to pop up in your head, then they need to be out there! December is a great time to move towards your goals and get your butt in gear.  This way, when January hits, you can hit the ground running. But do you know what you need to feel good and get the ball rolling? Yup, some self care and you time.

How do you plan to get in winter self care? What brings you joy? Is it organizing a closet? Donating things? Volunteering your time? Take a moment to sit and think about what really sparks joy within you. Then go for that! Because when you feel your best you’ll be your best.  And if you’re allowing those negative thoughts to creep up and hang out in your mind, your self esteem and sense of adventure tend to go down.

Having a hard time to pick out some activities to do? Let’s look at a few ideas I had while sitting in silence trying to think of some winter self care ideas. Hope you enjoy. I believe in you and all your goals you have my friend.
