Whenever I make a quiche, it never lasts long! It’s definitely a fan favorite for breakfast as it’s filling and savory. Today I wanted to share not just an easy quiche recipe, but also an easy 3 ingredient, quiche crust recipe with ya’ll. I use this crust for some of my pies too because I can whip it up quickly. If you have any questions, just holler below. I always love when someone says hi. 🙂
A Note About the Quiche Crust Recipe
You want to ensure the water is cold. I measure out a ½ cup of water then put it in my freezer while I get everything ready.
I also pull my butter right out of the fridge so it’s cold. This will help your crust be more flaky if that’s the goal. If you have room temperature butter, it’s going to mix with your flour and not give you that flakiness at the need.
Ideas to Add to Your Quiche
We change it up each time we make it. I pretty much look into my fridge and see what we’ve got. Some ideas could be:
- chopped spinach
- diced ham
- chopped bacon
- diced peppers
- diced onions
- chopped mushrooms
- black olives
- mozzerella
- feta
You get the idea. Just keep in mind that the more you add, the higher the risk of spilling your egg mixture over when you add it to your cast iron or pie pan. (Yup, I learned that mistake!) Also, as this easy quiche recipe cooks, it’s going to grow some (as do most recipes when you cook them).
Easy, 3 Ingredient Quiche Crust Recipe
Easy, 3 Ingredient Crust Recipe)
This super simple 3 ingredient crust recipe is great for quiches, pumpkin pies, pecan, and more! Make 2 if your recipe calls for more than one pie crust (like a top for an apple or peach pie).
Ingredients
- ½ cup cold butter, sliced thin
- ½ cup cold water
- 2 cups all purpose flour (plus more for dusting)
Instructions
- Add the flour to your bowl.
- Create a little hole in the middle, then add your water and butter.
- Mix all 3 ingredients together without mixing for too long and heating up your water and butter.
- Dust a clean area with flour to roll out your crust until it's about ¼-½ in thick (depending on the size of pan you're using).
- Voila, it is complete!
Notes
Place your water in the freezer without letting it freeze.
Ensure your butter is straight outta the fridge cold!
